Kelsie HuffKelsie Huff is a Columbia College Chicago graduate turned stand-up and storyteller. Kelsie performs at clubs all around the Midwest, as well as comedy and fringe festivals around the country. She is a regular guest on WCIU's The Jam, ABC’s Windy City LIVE, and has been featured on WGNTV and radio. Huff has written four solo shows, is a short film and web series producer, screenwriter and voice over actor.
Kelsie is also the creator of the kates and the kates U. the kates mission is to showcase talented and hilarious female identified performers by creating inclusive and positive environments; which encourages artists to express their comic point of view in unique and non-apologetic ways - proving that women are equal in the eyes of comedy. Amy Sumpter currently runs and books the kates monthly show at The Book Cellar in Lincoln Square. Kelsie also co-hosts Petals and Pricks, a Bachelor Podcast. She hates The Bachelor. Jonah loves it. |
Amy SumpterAmy Sumpter is a comedic actress who has performed all over Chicago. Hailing from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, she took Improv classes at the world famous Second City. There she met fellow funny lady Kelsie Huff and they started a two woman sketch show called Children of the Absurd. They traveled out of state for perfomances and were in Chicago's SketchFest.
For the last 10 years she has focused mainly on stand-up and storytelling. Shs is a regular performer with the kates and has done numerous showcases all over Chicago as well as out of state. In 2015 she was part of the top 100 to make it on Last Comic Standing Season 9. You can find her on YouTube and RooftopComedy.com. Maggie Tomasek (PRODUCER) is a writer, comic, runner and rapper. The Omaha, Nebraska, native began her career as a journalist and has been broadening her creative horizons since moving to Chicago in 2009. She met Amy and Kelsie through stand-up comedy in 2010, and the rest is history. Maggie has performed all over Chicago as a comic and storyteller, she’s is an eight-time Chicago Marathon finisher, and she kicks ass at her day job as a marketing and public relations professional.
